Sawa-Hibachi in Pooler

The wait was sufficient but I paid $20 for shrimp and scallops hibachi combo. I only received 6 shrimps and scallops! When I called the restaurant to question, the manager told the receptionist he didn’t have time to talk to customers! So we won’t be going back there again!

I would give less than one star if I could. The food was very overpriced for the amount. The meat did not have any good flavoring. Terrible cook, I specifically asked for no pepper on my food, then when he peppered my order of $10 Scallops he said "oh it's too late". Then put pepper on the rest of my order again. He did not offer to re-cook my food. It sucked!! Very poor quality...The waitress was very nice, but the cook sucked. And the place was a bit on the dingy side. A terrible waste of money. Worst Hibachi I've ever had. I will NEVER return.

They only get one star because I can’t leave zero. Our first experience had terrible wait service. Waited 25 minutes at the table to even be acknowledged. The second visit had fine service but the food was inedible. It was so bland and burnt. The cook had no idea what he was doing and kept forgetting components of people’s meals. Forgot ones veggies, someone else’s rice. Etc. upon speaking to the manager... “ he says oh, I give you discount. 30%” 30% when 100% of the food was gross. I asked for other management as the manager was the host that had been walking around clueless and didn’t seem to understand. what I was saying. Apparently he’s it. Hes an owner and “they won’t actually hire a manager that understands what’s going on” according to the staff. Save your money you’ll be better off ordering cheap takeout.

Janet was an amazing waitress and Tiny was the best hibachi chef we have ever had! Loved the experience and will definitely be back!

Once our party was seated we waited 15 minutes for drinks. Our server told us they were having to wash dishes. While waiting for cups to be washed we noticed all of our plates were greasy and some had leftover food on them. We informed our server who told us there was no hot water so they were hand washing dishes, which made it difficult to get grease off the plates. We made the decision to leave bc this was clearly extremely unsanitary. We flagged down another server, informed her of our decision and why. Nobody was apologetic and they were still seating parties despite not being able to sanitize anything.

The service was god awful. I found hair in my food from the chief I was disgusted. The servers were awful and my food was gross not cooked right at all. I do not recommend eating there at any cost. Was supper expense for gross food. Save yourself the time and don’t eat there

Having it rated 4.9 stars just proves one thing. The people of Savannah don't know nor can they appreciate good Chinese food. Savannah doesn't have a good Chinese restaurant anywhere, sorry if you disagree with this opinion but you'll understand if you ever go to a good and quality Chinese establishment. I hope you do.

Love this quaint little place! It wasn't very busy and prices are ok. Not too pricey.

Food and show were great! Didn't see much of our waiter tho. Got a tea refill once, but none on the soda.

Very good food and service. The last time we went last week and Greta served us. She was and awesome worker. She made things so much easier so my family can relax and eat peaceful.

Would not recommend. Seafood was fishy smelling, they were out of veggies to make veggie stirfry and went to the grocery store to buy more. Only one cook so you will be there for several hours after being seated.

We had terrible service. When we arrived there were no other hibachi tables filled. We waited quite a while to have our drink orders taken and even longer to have our food order taken. During that time, two other tables came, had their orders taken, and their hibachi chefs started preparing their food. We were still waiting for our chef. When we brought it to the attention of our server she claimed to also be the manager and apologized that our tickets went in after theirs. When the chef finally came, he didn't have everything that he needed and kept going back to the kitchen for missing items. They told us we would receive 10% off, no automatic gratuity, and free ice cream. Then when we were finished eating, they retracted on the free ice cream. They only get two stars because the poor chef did the best he could and the food tasted good. But the service was terrible.

We were driving though and went to this place for lunch. Had to wait more than 20 mins for the chef to come to our table. Only after one of us complaint about the delay. The waiter was full of attitude and finally when the chef came and prepared the food, it was horrible to taste. Everything he cooked was of same taste. The shrimp, the chicken, the rice, the vegetables all tasted same. I shall never go back to this restaurant again, for sure. It was a horrible experience. And I shall not recommend anybody to try it either.

They have recently made some upgrades and the building IMO was one of the cleanest Hibachi spots. Food was well prepared and received in a timely fashion. I’ve done both the hibachi and regular dine in, and the food is consistent. All the food arrived at the same time and was at a good temperature.

Mediocre Japanese steakhouse, if you are desperate for Japanese food come here.

#1 I've never seen so much oil used to cook on a grill in my life! I paid for it with horrible stomach issues as soon as I got home, also got my wife, daughter and son in law.#2 I'm sure they are having problems managerial wise with the current corona issue, however they were not busy and our meal from start to finish took an hour and half.#3 The staff were incredibly nice and I hate to say anything but when a meal does this to you, you have to say something. Save your money or go somewhere else

I wish i could give them zero stars. My family and i were seated at one of the hibachi tables when a giant ROACH fell out of the overhead vent onto the grill. The chef was headed to our table to cook when this happened. He noticed and apologized several times for the mishap. He had our table switched and assured the manager/owner would come make it right as well as give us a discount if we stayed. Well the owner /manager never came over. No discount was given. My family and i will never set foot in this place again. I'm pretty sure if they have roaches where they cook the food then they have them in the back where the keep the food.

This place used to be pretty great. Lately it's gone downhill. Slow service, poor coverage with long waits with not very many diners in the restaurant and the food quality had suffered significantly the last two times we have gone.

Reserved for hibachi dinner, when we got there we were seated and attended quickly and politely. They cook and service was awesome. The food was delicious.

We have been going to Sawa since they opened and it continues to go down hill. Tonight, the food was cooked way to fast because the grill was too hot. The food was tough and drenched in butter. Our chicken was raw and when we brought it up to the cook, he grabbed my plate to check and proceeded to put his hands in my food. He then scrapped the chicken off of my plate only to make remarks about the chicken not being raw. The piece he was showing me was extremely small, so yes it might not be raw. After asking my son what his favorite thing was, he stated the glass of water. We will not be returning.

Got take out from here and eaten at the the table for the show. Always have gotten good service and good food. I love this place will keep coming back.

But the filet mignon! It is like biting into butter, it is so tender.

The food was good and the fact that you can have it cooked in front of you is awesome but the fact that you have to sit with another family and the "kids" and the regular sized hibachi is the same size doesn't really make me happy. And the fact that their portions have shrank since their opening isn't too swell either.

Great food.. Fast and friendly. We had the gacia meal for two and it was plenty.. Even took home a whole other meal.. Well it seemed like it anyway.. :)

Food tasted different and good, main compliant was it was so small an area that the noise from other groups was way to loud to enjoy a relaxing meal. Other than that it was good service and nice people

The food is always fresh. The service is always fast and friendly. Celebrated my birthday here a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Food was good, steak was a little over cooked, Jolene our server was great.

The spicy tuna roll is a good size portion and is not full of fillers - good stuff!

I wasnt going to leave a review because most of the world doesn't consider vegans but when a waitress asks you a question that is disturbing, you can't help but post it. Once we sat in, we always tell whomever I'd waiting us that we don't eat dairy nor eggs. My fiance & I order two tofu lo-mein, 10 minutes after the waitress comes tell me that I have to order something else because the store only had one lo-mein left. Fine, I choose the pad thai and I didn't know it came with eggs. Once we got the food, we saw the eggs and we completely forgot to tell the waitress no egg. She proceeds and ask us "You dont eat egg today"? When we clearly said that we don't eat dairy nor eggs when you first sat us down.

So good. Sushi was 👌
